CM Punk will have a role for one key event promoting WrestleMania 40.

Punk was sidelined with a crucial injury, which he suffered during the 2024 men's Royal Rumble match. The "Best in the World" suffered a torn triceps, and it's believed to have occurred when Drew McIntyre hit the Future Shock DDT on Punk during the match. The former WWE champion continued the match, and was eliminated by Cody Rhodes.

CM Punk may be on the shelf, but that doesn't mean he won't have a key role promoting WrestleMania 40.

WWE has announced that CM Punk will be featured in tonight's WrestleMania 40 kickoff press conference. He will serve as a host along with Big E of The New Day, and WWE Raw commentators Michael Cole and Pat McAfee.

WWE then posted a video clip of CM Punk arriving at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Despite the unfortunate injury, Punk appears to be in good spirits. With that said, he had a few words about his inability to perform for a few months.

"One week post-surgery and I'm pissed it's not a hundred percent," Punk said. "You know, that's not how it works, but doesn't make me any less mad.

What Punk won't be mad about is greeting the WWE Universe in "Sin City." Punk was heavily rumored to be facing World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins on "The Grandest Stage of them All" before his injury. Rollins will also be in attendance for the press event.
