This past weekend it felt like hell had frozen over as one of the most controversial personalities in the world of professional wrestling, CM Punk, returned to WWE. This was one that fans were expecting to happen but never thought their dream would come true. Recently, UFC’s President and CEO, Dana White shared his thoughts on the matter.

Some may question why Dana White needs to comment on this. Well, there are two main reasons why his thoughts matter. Firstly, WWE is no longer a solo company. Endeavor has bought it, and both UFC and the Stamford-based promotion are under the same banner, TKO.

Secondly, the self-proclaimed Best in the World has also competed in UFC on a couple of occasions. Unfortunately, CM Punk was not as successful inside the Octagon as he was inside the squared circle.

Justin Barrasso recently interviewed White for Sports Illustrated. There, the UFC President mentioned that right after he saw the Second City Saint walk out at Survivor Series WarGames, White texted Punk. The UFC President also mentioned that he’s always had a great relationship with the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion since the day they met.

“I texted him that night after he walked out in Chicago … It was amazing. I texted and congratulated him, it was incredible. I’ve had nothing but a great relationship with him since the day we met. He’s a super nice guy. He’s one of the easiest people I’ve ever dealt with. Everybody that he trained with [in MMA] and everybody around him in his camp respected him … that spoke volumes. Do I give my blessing? 100%. I love the guy,” Dana White said.

While White is excited for Punk, Seth Rollins isn’t feeling the same way.

What’s your reaction to Punk’s return?
