Donald Cerrone retires from MMA after loss at UFC 276

Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone has decided to walk away from the octagon.

Cerrone, 39, announced his retirement from mixed martial arts on Saturday after a submission loss to Jim Miller at UFC 276.

The 16-year MMA veteran poetically laid down his gloves and signature cowboy hat in the middle of the octagon after the fight.

"I don't love it anymore," Cerrone said. "I'm going to be a movie star, baby! It's time to bow out."

Cerrone's tied with Andrei Arlovski for the second-most wins in UFC history with 23. On Saturday night, Miller, Cerrone's opponent, became the UFC's all-time leader in victories with 24 after his win at UFC 276.

Competing in his first official bout in 2006, Cerrone emerged onto the MMA scene in WEC. Cerrone began his stint with the UFC in 2011, finishing with a 23-14 record while participating in Fight of the Night six times.

Cerrone finishes his career with an MMA record of 36-17 with two no-decisions.
