Former UFC champion Israel Adesanya has a strong understanding when it comes to Saturday’s UFC 300 main event.

Adeanya has shared the Octagon with Alex Pereira and is friends with his opponent. Jamahal Hill. The two battle over the UFC light heavyweight championship from the marquee event in Las Vegas.

“Five rounds, so it’s gonna be a low start in the first,” Adesanya said (thanks to MMA Fighting for the quotes). “They’re gonna figure each other out, get some shots off.

“Alex is going to be throwing the leg kick, and Jamahal will be finding his jab and trying to get his fist to Alex’s head. Not just the chin.”

Israel Adesanya: Jamahal Hill Has KO Power

Adesanya recalled the bout with Johnny Walker, adding, “That was probably a (puts fist to forehead). Bro, he shuts people off. That was insane.”

Hill, a former champion who vacated the belt after an injury, knocked out Walker in 2022. A year later, he topped Glover Teixeira for the title.

As for his fight prediction, Adesanya believes the former champion will be leaving with the belt.

“I’m gonna go Jamahal by KO,” he said. “I think it’s gonna be in the first two-and-a-half (rounds).”
