Heavyweight Jailton Almeida had little trouble disposing of Derrick Lewis in the main event of UFC Fight Night 231 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday.

Almeida, a native of Brazil, took the match by unanimous decision, with two judges scoring it 50-44 and the third at 50-45. He ran his record to 20-2 and is a perfect 6-0 in UFC bouts.

It was the first time as a professional that Almeida needed to go the distance to get a win.

Almeida finished with 120 total strikes, hitting on 78.4 percent of his attempts, to just 28 and 51.9 percent for Lewis, the American who was some 30 pounds heavier than Almeida. Lewis fell to 27-12 with one no-contest and has won only two of his last seven fights.

In the co-main welterweight event, Nicolas Dalby of Denmark ran his record to 23-4-1 by handing Brazil's Gabriel Bonfim (15-1-0) his first loss. It came by a TKO at 4:33 of the second round.

Also, heavyweight Rodrigo Nascimento of Brazil improved to 11-1-0 by getting a three-round unanimous decision over Don'Tale Mayes (10-6-0) of the United States.
