Joe Rogan has never been one to shy away from a controversial topic. This Thursday, however, he's making headlines for a very positive reason.
Rogan, 57, has become one of the most popular podcasters in the world over the past few years. He constantly has marquee names join his show, "The Joe Rogan Experience." When he's not in the studio recording his podcast, he's offering his analysis on the top UFC fights.
One thing about Rogan that UFC fans love is that he's an open book. He's never afraid to get honest about his personal life.
With that said, Rogan offered an update on his journey to being sober. It turns out he hasn't had any alcohol in roughly two months.
Rogan's dog, Marshall, accidentally tested his will this Thursday by bringing him a bottle. He turned down the offer though.
"My bestest boy @marshallmaerogan is trying to get me to fall off the wagon," Rogan wrote. "I haven’t had a drink in about 2 months and I feel great. Almost makes me feel dumb for not quitting a long time ago. I do so many things to stay healthy only to sabotage it with booze multiple days a week. Glad my dumb [expletive] figured it out eventually. Marshall, on the other hand wants to get hammered and go to the dog park."
Rogan's honesty inspired people to come forward with their sobriety journey.
"I wish more people would see that! Alcohol is completely unnecessary and only sets your life back without even thinking," one person wrote.
"Just hit 9 months today. At this point I don’t see myself drinking again. Like you said. Wish I would have done it sooner," an Instagram user added.
"He's a gooood booooy. Congrats on not drinking," another person commented.
Rogan has participated in "sober October" in the past. This year, it sounds like he'll be several months sober before he even gets to the fall.
