Jon Jones campaigns for UFC heavyweight title fight with Stipe Miocic, calls Brock Lesnar out
Roughly two weeks after Jon Jones vacated the UFC light heavyweight championship ahead of a move up to the heavyweight division, the 33-year-old seen by many as the most talented athlete in the history of mixed martial arts took to Twitter to campaign for a title bout versus current heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.
Miocic successfully defended the strap against Daniel Cormier at UFC 252 earlier this month.
While UFC boss Dana White has repeatedly said that top contender and knockout artist Francis Ngannou is next in line to face Miocic, Jones tweeted that Miocic shouldn't have to prove himself a second time since he defeated Ngannou at UFC 220 in January 2018.

Jones hasn't fought since he controversially defeated Dominick Reyes via decision at UFC 247 in February. Many observers and fans scored that contest in favor of Reyes.
Miocic recently said he believes Ngannou deserves a title fight before Jones.
Jones also used social media to call out former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, telling the former WWE and UFC champ that he'd "beat his a-- too."
Earlier on Monday, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com reported that Lesnar is out of contract with World Wrestling Entertainment and is a free agent. The 43-year-old hasn't competed in the UFC since July 2016 but would nevertheless be a massive pay-per-view draw for a return bout versus Jones or Miocic.
ESPN's Marc Raimondi confirmed Lesnar is unsigned as of Aug. 31.
Miocic, meanwhile, has never ascended to superstar status even though the 38-year-old is the most accomplished heavyweight to ever carry and defend the UFC belt. A fight against Jones or Lesnar could bolster his reputation, not to mention earn him the largest single payday of his pro career.
It's unknown if Miocic will fight again in 2020. He has no obligation to defend his title before the year ends.
