A key bout will no longer be taking place on the UFC Sao Paulo card.

The planned middleweight clash between Rodolfo Vieira and Armen Petrosyan was given the axe, as announced by the UFC Sao Paulo broadcast team. Petrosyan fell ill backstage and was said to have been vomiting.

Color commentators and former UFC champions Dominick Cruz and Michael Bisping both weighed in on the situation.

"As a fighter myself, I don't know what I would say to my opponent throwing up in the back other than, 'I hope you didn't eat something bad,' and that's what it is," Cruz said. "Or, 'Are you nervous?' There's so many different things you're thinking as the athlete, I'm sure."

Bisping followed up Cruz's comments, saying that he believes Petrosyan's nerves were in check given his experience.

"Well, we've got to give respect to Petrosyan," Bisping said. "I don't think he's nervous. He's a very seasoned competitor."

Cruz agreed with Bisping's point and said he hopes Petrosyan is okay. Bisping also said that as human beings, "These things happen and it's such a shame."

Time will tell if the UFC gets this one rebooked, but the immediate focus is on Armen Petrosyan's health.
