Frankie Edgar is the first inductee in the 2024 UFC Hall of Fame.

Edgar was in attendance for UFC 297 inside the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Saturday night. Once the opening main card fight between Movsar Evloev and Arnold Allen wrapped up, UFC play-by-play ace Jon Anik revealed the first member of the 2024 UFC Hall of Fame class.

It was none other than "The Answer."

A video package played to announce Edgar's induction in the "Modern Wing." A former UFC lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar had 36 fights as a pro MMA athlete. He made his exit from pro competition following a first-round KO loss to Chris Gutiérrez back in November 2022.

In his career, Edgar defeated the likes of the legendary BJ Penn, Urijah Faber, Chad Mendes, and Charles Oliveira. During his run as the UFC lightweight champion, "The Answer" defeated Penn in a rematch and finished his memorable rivalry with Gray Maynard via knockout.

Edgar received a big ovation when it was announced that he would be taking his place in UFC history. A fan favorite throughout his career, Edgar was never known for trash talking, but his exciting fighting style spoke for him.

Frankie Edgar will be inducted in the UFC Hall of Fame during International Fight Week this summer. The UFC is expected to announce more inductees in the coming weeks and months.
