Movsar Evloev extended his unbeaten record and picked up the biggest victory of his career when he defeated Arnold Allen in an entertaining featherweight bout at UFC 297.

Much of the attention leading up to UFC 297 was understandably centered on the headlining middleweight title fight between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis, but more than a few fans pointed to the main card’s featherweight curtain jerker as the most intriguing matchup of the night.

The two featherweights had a tough act to follow after the UFC 297 prelims featured quite a few finishes, and although the fight went the distance, the two men put on a tremendous fight that Evloev ultimately won via unanimous decision.

The result gives Allen the first back-to-back losses of his career after he came up short against former featherweight king Max Holloway last year, while Evloev now has eight UFC victories following his promotional debut in 2019.

The unbeaten fighter sustained significant damage in the final round courtesy of some questionably legal knees from Allen, but following the biggest win of his career Evloev called for a featherweight title shot and should find himself ranked in the division's Top 5.
