Chris Barnett will face Mohammad Usman at a UFC Vegas Fight Night on March 23. The fight was first announced by Usman on Instagram.
"Beast Boy" Barnett returns from a long layoff, last appearing in September 2022 in a winning effort against Jake Collier. Barnett later pulled out of a match in May 2023 due to undisclosed reasons. The American kickboxer blew fans away with his spinning wheel kick knockout of Gian Villante in 2021 and further grew his stock within the UFC with his comeback victory over Collier.
Barnett's opponent is no slouch, Usman is undefeated since joining the UFC, winning three straight fights. "The Motor" won Season 30 of The Ultimate Fighter, and uses his underrated cardio to set an uncomfortable pace for his opponents.
Both fighters will be looking for statement victories, as Barnett returns from his long hiatus, and Usman looks to find his first finish victory since his debut. There won't be a crowd to witness any spectacular moments, however, as the March 23 Fight Night takes place at the UFC Apex facility in Vegas.
In the main event, UFC veteran Amanda Ribas fights two-time UFC champion Rose Namajunas. The card also features some exciting fighters such as Ricardo Ramos, Davey Grant, and Kurt Holobaugh.
