The latest UFC results feature action both inside and outside the Octagon. The fans decided to get involved as the promotion returned to Mexico for the first time since 2019.

UFC Fight Night 237 or UFC on ESPN+ 95 featured a main event rematch between former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno and Brandon Royval. Also, former interim featherweight champion Yair Rodriguez took on ex-contender Brian Ortega in the co-main.

Moreno and Royval delighted the crowds with a thrilling five-round encounter. In the end, Royval was declared the winner via split decision.

Royval landed more strikes, Moreno had a better percentage land and had three takedowns to just one from Royval. The two did exchange through the final bell before embracing.

In the first meeting, Moreno scored a first round TKO in 2020 at UFC 255.

It was an interesting night for Ortega, as he found his opening and got a submission victory. During introductions, “T-City” appeared to injury his right ankle after landing awkwardly on it while warming up.

That seemed to slow Ortega, as Rodriguez landed and nearly finished him in the first. From there, though, he dominated, locking in an arm-triangle choke for the win. The bout was scheduled for five rounds.

“I rolled my ankle and freaked out,” Ortega said. “It’s a wrap (when I get that submission). I’ve been training super hard and got my life together. I’m not being an idiot anymore.”

During the action, a fight broke out among those in attendance. Fans started trading punches as a women’s strawweight fight between Yazmin Jauregui and Sam Hughes took place from the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico.
