Cain Velasquez Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

UFC star Cain Velasquez was arrested on Monday night after allegedly shooting another man.

San Jose, Calif., police shared on Monday that a shooting took place in Morgan Hill at the intersection of Monterey Hwy. and Bailey Ave.

NBC Bay Area reported that Velasquez was involved in the shooting, though they did not share his role. However, they reported that one man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the other was arrested.

A check of the Santa Clara County Department of Corrections database shows that Velasquez was booked on Monday.

Velasquez, 39, fights out of San Jose. The former college wrestler began his professional MMA career in 2006 and last fought in 2019, when he suffered a knee injury in a defeat. He was a two-time UFC heavyweight champion.
