Nate Diaz and Jake Paul have engaged in a war of words on Twitter over former UFC fighter Ben Askren, of all people.

Askren was the first actual fighter to step into the ring with Paul. He was knocked out in the very first round of the contest.

While he is an Olympic level wrestler and has a commendable MMA record, Askren is not renowned for his striking, which is probably why Paul took the fight in the first place.

In reply to Askren praising the YouTuber’s boxing ability on Twitter, UFC counterpart Nate Diaz took aim at the 19-2 MMA star’s ability to box.

It was unprovoked and clearly not appreciated by Paul, who doesn’t want to have his opponents discredited as it makes his fighting C.V look worse.

The social media star took aim at Nate Diaz’s fighting record, drawing on how many more losses he has than the man he was criticising.

Diaz didn’t appreciate it, not one bit…

There have been whispers about the possibility of Jake Paul facing Nate Diaz in the boxing ring, with Logan Paul and Nick Diaz battling it out in a co-main event.

That is, at this point, just speculation, but it’s certainly something that the fans would love to see!
