It has recently been reported that the Ex-Haas boss. Guenther Steiner is attempting to buy an F1 team. After parting ways with Haas ahead of the ongoing campaign, Steiner has been seen doing interviews in the paddock and has also published his novel.

However, the Italian-American has big ambitions and is set to pursue them. As understood by the media, he is looking to buy a stake in an existing team. Moreover, Steiner has also found an investor who is willing to support him in his daring venture.

While addressing these ongoing talks, Guenther Steiner had the following to say.

I'm not interested in running a team on the same premise as Haas. I've spent so many years in F1 that I want to do more than just participate and score points every once in a while. I want to really compete and try to win. I'm not going to come back just to run a team if I don't have that opportunity. Guenther Steiner via: Autosportweb

Steiner didn’t part ways with Haas on merry happy terms, after having disagreements with the American team owner, Gene Haas, he left the team. Haas’s performance in the last couple of seasons hasn’t been great, and the team has suffered significant damage as well.

As for the prospects of buying a stake, Steiner has shown interest in VCARB but Red Bull has their own conditions. They want to run the Red Bull-Ford power unit from 2026 to 2030.

Ayao Komatsu has responded to Guenther Steiner’s ‘downplaying’ comment

Despite parting ways with the Kannapolis-based team, Guenther Steiner had complimented Haas as the team has improved their performance this season. However, he has also asserted that the American team is perhaps downplaying their expectations.

Finally addressing these claims, the new team principal of Haas Ayao Komatsu, had the following to share.

If you look at the data from the wind tunnel, it’s just a number. I knew the figure and knew how much we had improved. Nevertheless, I had to assume that all the other teams had improved by at least the same amount or more. It wasn’t about spreading nonsense or misleading people. I only said what my expectations were at the time. Ayao Komatsu said as in an interview with Motorsport-Magazin

After four rounds, the Haas F1 team has so far managed to amass four points which is quite impressive, especially considering their horrendous 2023 campaign. The VF-24 has looked solid in race trim against its rivals and considering this, it will be fascinating to see what the Ayao Komatsu-led team can do in the upcoming races.
