Frankie Muniz is set to make his ARCA Menards Series season debut in Saturday’s General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway.
Muniz is reuniting with Rette Jones Racing, whom he raced for in ARCA for the entirety of the 2023 season.
“I’m back home with Rette Jones Racing at least for one weekend,” Muniz said in a statement. “This was a last-minute opportunity that came to fruition after I received a call early this week, and after talking it over with my wife, she said, ‘Let’s go win, Talladega!’
“We are so excited to be back in the ARCA Menards Series. I’m also thrilled to be back with Mark (Rette), Terry (Jones), and the entire Rette Jones Racing team this weekend at Talladega. I know we will be doing more ARCA races this season together as the opportunities align. This is a great opportunity for me to build some confidence behind the wheel and see if we can’t continue to build on together what we accomplished last April.”
The actor turned racecar driver finished fourth in the points standings before announcing in February he would run a part-time schedule in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Joey Gase Motorsports in 2024. This will be Muniz’s second start at Talladega in ARCA after finishing ninth in his debut last season. Talladega was the second of five consecutive top-5 finishes for Muniz. The others came at Phoenix Raceway, Kansas Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway and Berlin Raceway.

Muniz finished 33rd in his Xfinity Series debut at Daytona International Speedway in February. He finished 30th a few weeks later at Phoenix. Muniz hasn’t raced in the Xfinity Series since.
Muniz, making the transition from ARCA, talked about what he’s out to prove in the Xfinity Series this season.
“I’m excited to prove to people that I can race in this series,” Muniz said in February, via The Associated Press. “I know it is not going to be easy. ARCA is a great series. There’s some really good cars, some really good competition. This is a whole different level. Everybody out there is good. I don’t want to call it self-doubt. It has nothing to do with that. I just have to prove it to myself as soon as we get on track. Hopefully we can do that.”
