Legacy Motor Club and legendary rock band Creed have agreed to a partnership for the 66th running of the Daytona 500, the race team announced Tuesday.

Creed will have associate placement on Jimmie Johnson’s No. 84 Toyota. Unveiled earlier this month by Carvana, the car is a tribute to “The King” Richard Petty’s No. 43 paint scheme that he raced in the 1964 Daytona 500.

“Unless you have lived under a rock, you know every word to every Creed hit,” said Johnson, co-owner of Legacy Motor Club. “In seriousness, our partnership with Live Nation is very important to us – last year we had Guns’ N Roses on Erik’s [Jones] car and this season another heavy hitter with Creed. The GNR diecast was NASCAR’s second best-seller last season so I’m proud of our relationship with Live Nation and am happy to welcome Creed ‘With Arms Wide Open’ to the Club.”

Legacy Motor Club’s Jimmie Johnson gearing up for 21st Daytona 500 start

Creed, the Grammy Award-winning band, reunited this past year and will soon embark on The Summer of ’99 Tour. The forty-city North American tour begins on July 17. Three Doors Down, Daughtry, Switchfoot, Tonic, Big Wreck and Finger Eleven are among the bands scheduled to appear alongside Creed on the tour.

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Jimmie and his team at LEGACY MOTOR CLUB,” Creed said in a statement. “Having the Creed logo on a car modeled after the legend Richard Petty’s paint scheme is a new career first for us.”

Sunday’s Daytona 500 will be Johnson’s 21st start in The Great American Race. Johnson, a two-time Daytona 500 winner (2006, 2013), finished 31st last year in his first start as part of Legacy Motor Club. The Daytona 500 is one of nine races Johnson will run in this year for Legacy Motor Club.

“I’m so proud to represent Carvana for a second NASCAR season, and our fourth season overall as partners, at some of my favorite races,” Johnson said last month. “Carvana is a fun brand that captures the joy of cars and racing, and they do a great job leveraging their partnership with Legacy M.C. I’m excited to have a shot at another Daytona 500 trophy in our new Toyota Camry XSEs, and the paint scheme is sure to be a fan favorite.”
