One of the biggest consequences of the Busch Light Clash last night is the renewed feud between Joey Logano and Ty Gibbs. Logano felt that Gibbs ran him up the track too much. He wasn’t happy after the NASCAR exhibition, taking the conversation to the hauler.

While the two were face-to-face, you could tell they weren’t seeing eye to eye. Logano argued his side, but Gibbs didn’t want to hear any of it. The two ended up walking away from one another without a resolution to their dispute.

When Logano made it up to the media room to talk with reporters after his P4 finish, he addressed the Gibbs situation.

“He just used me up, all the way to the wall,” Joey Logano explained. “There’s a fine line of kind of pushing each other up a little bit, racing for a win. And using me up with the history that he has with me is not a good idea for him.”

This seems to be the trajectory of many talented young NASCAR drivers. Early in your career, flashes of talent, you pi-- off a champion or a longtime veteran. Logano has had his fair share of feuds from his young days.

Now, Logano is the elder talking about the disrespectful young driver not knowing what he is doing on the track. Is this going to end up bad for Gibbs?

Joey Logano and Ty Gibbs rekindle rivalry

Go back to last season at Martinsville. It was a race much like this Busch Light Clash event. Denny Hamlin was up front, Ty Gibbs was right there, and Joey Logano not far behind. That’s really where the first big move was made in this rivalry.

Logano basically just drove through Gibbs, knocked him out of the way, and ruined Gibbs’ entire race. Many times, issues like this can die in the offseason. Drivers will forget about it, until the next incident.

Well, it didn’t take long for the next incident in this case.

“Just mad that I ran him up,” Gibbs said, via Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports. “But if you go back and look at the replay, the 12 kind of chucks him out of the way too. So, it’s just hard racing at the end. This place is really hard to get your tires warm once the caution comes out as we see everybody sliding around. I just got in there deep and washed up on them and we just kind of got all tangled up after that.

“So he just came over and said that to me in a bunch of different words.”

These two aren’t seeing eye to eye. We will see how long the Joey Logano and Ty Gibbs feud lasts this season.
