Along with another full season in the Craftsman Truck Series, Daniel Dye is going to the Xfinity Series with Kaulig Racing. Dye was with GMS Racing a year ago. He had two Xfinity Series starts with Alpha Prime Racing. Now, he’s tackling 10 NASCAR races in the second-tier series.
The 2024 season is really coming together for Kaulig Racing. While the Cup Series team is a little lackluster, the Xfinity Series group looks great right now. Think about it, Shane van Gisbergen, Josh Williams, AJ Allmendinger, and now – Daniel Dye.
The No. 10 car is back for 2024. This all-star car won three races a year ago with Allmendinger taking two and Kyle Larson winning at Darlington. The car had a combined 23 top-10 finishes across 11 drivers. Seven of those were top-5 finishes or better.
In the new season, Daniel Dye hopes to show his skills with this top program. Champion Container and Race to Stop Suicide will be the sponsors for Dye in his 10-race Xfinity Series schedule.
The 10 races are Daytona season opener, Texas, Dover, Iowa, Pocono, Indianapolis, Michigan, Kansas, Las Vegas, and Phoenix.
Expectations at Kaulig Racing are high. This is the Trophy Hunting team. They don’t want to do anything but win races and celebrate in Victory Lane. So, Daniel Dye has a tall order ahead of him for 2024.
Daniel Dye will be in great cars, trucks in 2024
Between his full-time Craftsman Truck Series deal at McAnally-Hilgemann Racing and his 10 races with Kaulig in the Xfinity Series, Daniel Dye has to perform. His rookie season did not go according to plan, I’d say.
Only two DNFs the whole season, but only a single top-10 at GMS Racing. That’s not great by any standard. Top-15 and top-20 finishes came regularly, but so did 20+ place finishes.
A year ago, MHR put Christian Eckes into the playoffs, he won four races in the 2024 season, finishing 5th overall. Jake Garcia, was 14th on the season and had multiple top-10 and top-5 finishes to his record. Eckes is back with MHR while Garcia is going to ThorSport this season.
Daniel Dye is going to have teammates Tyler Ankrum, Eckes, and Jack Wood on a part-time basis. Those are talented drivers who have already won or shown a lot of promise in recent years. If Dye can’t keep up with his team, then it could be a one-year stop at MHR.
