Hendrick Motorsport driver Kyle Larson  recently took part and drove in an Indy 500 open test Wednesday. The driver seemed to be on the limit from the start, as he recorded a P2 finish at the end of the just behind Josef Newgarden.

Kyle Larson maximized the result on Day 1 of the test, as Day 2 was canceled due to bad weather. The NASCAR champion also practiced a lot of racing in traffic and seemed to be in good spirits ahead of his entry in the Indy 500. Following his P2 finish, the No:5 Chevy driver spoke about how he is now comfortable with the IndyCar after his practice sessions.

You know, just getting comfortable on pit lane and pulling in the pit stall and out of it. I feel like I’ve gotten more comfortable with the clutch and all that. You know, it’s been so far so good and just good to get laps. Kyle Larson said.

The NASCAR champion is one of the best drivers in the world and is definitely looking very rapid in his IndyCar. Only time will tell where Larson will find himself on May 14, during the practice sessions prior to the main event, the Indy 500 on May 16.

Kyle Larson shares an insight into ‘learnings’ after IndyCar open test

The first day of the IndyCar open test seemed to go very well for Kyle Larson. The Hendricks Motorsport driver ended the P2 and seemed to understand the car almost immediately. Following his brilliant test, Larson opened up about his learnings from the test.

“So, just trying to learn all that and process all that and just knowing what I can do in the car to try to help cope with that and timing the runs behind me, just trying to figure out any big of like racecraft today which I know is tough, but just trying to get an idea of things and just get notes in my head and all that.

The Chevy star added how during his drive through the traffic he was making notes in his head that would help him improve his wheel-to-wheel ability. Larson’s debut in the Indy500 is just over a month away and something that fans will definitely keep a keen eye on as the NASCAR Champ seems to be fully ready to go.
