Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Martin Truex Jr. has been desperately looking for his first win of the 2024 season in the last eight races of the season. He faced multiple heartbreaks as he wants able to secure the win despite being in contention for the win in multiple events, especially the short-track stint in the last four weekends.

In the meantime, Martin Truex Jr.’s teammates Denny Hamlin and Christopher Bell has scored victories and secured playoff spots. The former won twice this season including a win at Richmond at the expense of Truex Jr. while the latter won at Phoenix. Going into this weekend’s race at Texas Motor Speedway, the No:19 Camry driver is confident he could secure a last-16 spot along with them.

But it wont come easy as he has a history of missing victories in the fast cars at Texas. While talking about Truex Jr. admitted that he have been snakebit a lot while having fast cars and had experienced some struggles when the track was repaved as well, but he is confident about his chances. His Next-Gen era performance at the track, gives him more hope.

It’s always been a good track for us. In 2022, we were leading, and we blew a tire. It’s been one of those places where we have been snakebit a lot. We’ve had some good runs; we’ve had some struggles at times since they repaved it. Just one of those things, but I feel confident going there with what we have that we’ll run well, especially how we ran there the last couple of years. Martin Truex Jr. said via Motorsports.com.

Martin Truex Jr.’s team is working hard to clean up their execution

The No:19 team lost the Richmond Cup race on overtime after losing the battle on the pit top their fellow JGR side No:11. Hence the team is working on cleaning up their pit-game alongside other execution on and off the track. This gives them huge confidence going into the upcoming events.

We’ve been really consistent. We’ve been working on cleaning up some mistakes in several areas, I know the guys have been busting their tails working on pit stops. If we can clean that up a bit and they can get some confidence and get consistently fast, our cars are great, and the team is doing a great job and clicking and working hard. Martin Truex Jr. said.

Considering the consistency of the driver and the No:19 team it won’t be long before they secure a race win. A failure to do it would most likely be the product of poor execution from the team.  Getting a win will help them to be a strong contender for the championship this season.
