Brad Keselowski seemed to have figured out how to balance running a team and driving at the same time during the 2024 season for RFK Racing. However, a new campaign has brought on a slew of challenges, and the veteran wheelman has struggled immensely in 2025.

Thus far, Keselowski is P32 in points through 11 races. He’s 279 points behind the leader, has four DNFs and his best finish is P11, which happened at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March.

As he searches for his first top ten of the season, and tries to get back to Victory Lane in the Cup Series for win No. 37 of his career, NASCAR insiders Jeff Gluck and Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic tried to make sense of it. While they recognize a win could save their season and lock the veteran into the playoffs, they’re not seeing where it could happen for Keselowski at the moment.

“We talk about guys and points and everything like that. I think I count eight finishes of P26 or worse now in 11 races. That’s crazy. Anything that can go wrong has gone wrong. That’s a team that’s certainly in must-win mode,” Bianchi stated, via The Teardown. “If you’re going to make the playoffs, you’re not doing it on points. You’re gonna have to go win a race. The thing is though, I don’t know if they’ve got the speed right now. That’s worrisome to me. I just haven’t seen enough from this team.

“What’s interesting to me is, you look at the No. 17 team, you look at the No. 60 team, those teams at RFK have been pretty good, especially No. 17, and the No. 6 team has not been — I don’t think it’s been really anywhere close to that level. … The thing is too, looking at the qualifying, they’re not even qualifying well. He’s had one top 15 qualifying effort this year and that was at Atlanta, and he qualified ninth. There’s just nothing going right for this team right now.”

All told, it’s evident Brad Keselowski has been disappointing in 2025, and there’s no way to skirt around that. As the summer rages on, perhaps the former NASCAR Cup Series champion can shock the world and turn things around. If not, the washed allegations will grow louder, and one will have to wonder whether the time to hang up his steering wheel is here.
