After a solid start to his NASCAR Cup Series season, Bubba Wallace had a crash landing at Phoenix Sunday.

Wallace did not finish at the Shriners Children's 500 Sunday afternoon, crashing into the wall on lap 267 of 312 due to a brake issue. While Wallace was able to drive the car to the garage after the wreck, he sustained too much damage, including a flat front right tire.

"Our brakes blew out, unfortunate. Didn't have any sign leading up to that last re-start we had," Wallace said to Jamie Little afterwards.

"It's a bummer. We didn't have the best of start or the best of mid-race for our Leidos Team. But felt like we finally got our big break, cracked in there in the top 10 and was gonna make something of it, trying to survive. Just got ripped out from underneath us. Unfortunate, I hate it. We've had such a strong start to the season. But all in all, you can be pissed off about it, it is what it is...just wasn't in the cards. We'll go back home, fly back out here and go to Vegas."

Wallace continued with that simple message on his Instagram story, writing three words to indicate he is already focusing on next week's Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube at Las Vegas Raceway.

"On to Vegas..." Wallace said on Sunday night, adding that the "brakes blew and that's all the wrote."

After finishing ninth at Atlanta and winning Stage 1 at the Circuit of the Americas in the first three weeks, Wallace was fifth in the points standings heading into yesterday's event. He's now down to 12th after wiping out at Phoenix.

The 31-year-old driver will attempt to bounce back at Sunday's Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube, which will get underway at 3:30 p.m. ET and be shown on FS1.
