Kyle Busch took a minor shot at Kyle Larson while speaking about his son, Brexton, and his racing career. On the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Busch was asked about Brexton’s development, and he compared it to what Larson has done in his career.

“I look at Kyle, ‘Tiny’ Kyle Larson,” Kyle Busch said in the episode that premiered on April 28. “I would say he’s obviously one of the top talents right now in our space and in the dirt world space as well. He can get in anything anytime and go fast. I feel like the dirt world and having that expertise and feeling comfortable crooked and being sideways and not having the grip has helped him a lot over the years and just being able to carry cars further than they were potentially worth. And then obviously the pavement side as well, just kind of get that craft as well of being on the pavement.”

Kyle Busch is not wrong about Kyle Larson

Busch went on to talk more about Brexton and his future in racing. “I don’t know that he needs to go Sprint Car racing, although he says he wants to,” Busch said. “Mom definitely doesn’t want him to go that path, but I think he should get some races in some of that stuff a little bit later on down the road.”

Kyle Busch might think Kyle Larson is “tiny,” but he’s also right about being one of the best in the racing world. Larson won the NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas on Sunday, his third victory of the season.

“I was trying really hard to pace myself because I believe that was our longest run of the day,” Larson said after the race. “I’d been struggling a little bit at the end of the runs. Chase was really good, so I just felt like I needed to try to be better on my end.

“I don’t know if it was paying off or not at the end. I was still struggling. I don’t know if the right front was starting to wear a lot or what, but I was starting to lose a lot of grip and then I was vibrating really bad, so I was afraid a right rear or something would let go.”
