The NBA Draft took a huge step forward this week, with the combine showcasing the top available players and revealing the lottery order. That means each team now knows where they are selecting on draft night, including the No. 1 overall pick owned by the Dallas Mavericks.
The NBA mock draft will continue to shift over the coming months, with offseason workouts still to come before final decisions on withdraws. In the meantime, teams must also diagnose the areas they must fill needs.
As these teams turn full focus to their offseason plans, here is the latest projections for what the 2025 NBA Draft could look like. From pick 1-14, here is the latest on each team’s position.
The Dallas Mavericks get the luck of the draw, moving up to claim the No. 1 pick and the right to select Cooper Flagg. Given the franchise’s commitment to competing for championships in the short-term, a blockbuster trade cannot be ruled out, but seems unlikely given the trajectory.

The San Antonio Spurs also leap up the board on lottery night, getting a trade asset as much as a pick. With Dylan Harper the clear No. 2 in the class, it only increases the odds that the selection is moved as part of a big-time offseason trade to give Victor Wembanyama immediate help.

The Philadelphia 76ers hold onto their pick, moving up into the Top Four to boost their odds of adding a meaningful piece to the rotation again. After incredibility bad injury luck, adding a high-upside wing player who could benefit from playing a role early makes sense if they do not use the pick as an asset.

The Charlotte Hornets receive the final lottery spot, giving them the opportunity to build around the current group of young players or replace them with a new face in the lineup. By adding VJ Edgecombe, they could maximize the ability to fit pieces together on the way to success.
The Utah Jazz again fall victim to bad lottery luck, falling the furthest distance possible down the board. Tre Johnson is an easy fit for a team lacking backcourt production across multiple years and a rotation which could use a go-to scorer.
The Washington Wizards also fall down the board and must look at what is left to choose from after the top players come off the board. Kon Knueppel is a solid fit with any team, making it a safe play as the team continues to bet on young talent.

The New Orleans Pelicans spent their top pick last season on a center, but did little else to address the position long-term. Now under new management, the group can add another big to the rotation with a different set of skills which could either complement or replace what they have now.
After tearing things down, the Brooklyn Nets are in a rebuild with plenty picks over the coming drafts to bet on high-upside players along the way while angling for top free agents. Nolan Traore has seen plenty ups and downs to his stock throughout the past 12 months, but shows signs of a talented point guard.

The Toronto Raptors have gone through the rebuilding process, attempting to find young players who fit with the current core moving forward. Kasparas Jakucionis fits the desired mold of prospects who can impact the game in multiple areas.
The Houston Rockets have already made a climb toward the top of the Western Conference as a young, up-and-coming team mixed in with veteran leaders. They now have another lottery pick to spend on the type of defensive frontcourt player who could crack the rotation quickly.

The Portland Trail Blazers have put together a talented young core of players looking to mesh together and create more success. The potential to take a swing on the raw tools of Noa Essengue could provide them with another major piece moving forward.

The Chicago Bulls have major changes needed across the roster to return themselves to the playoff conversation in a meaningful way. That process has started slowly, and could continue with a new offensive center to build around, something which benefits Derik Queen.

After the past front office made a conscious effort to surround Trae Young with a certain prototype of player, a new group is taking over. Whether they view this pick as a replacement or a swing at a future complementary piece to develop off the bench, Jeremiah Fears is an upside prospect.

Using their second lottery selection, the San Antonio Spurs could trade or use either pick during the offseason. If they keep this one, it makes sense to add a wing player who is willing to fill a role and maximize the strengths of star players.
