The LA Clippers start training camp today, and have a lot to look forward to.

There are going to be many installations here for the new players, and the team also has a huge opportunity to gain chemistry with a group that had to play in many different lineups last year due to injuries.

The Clippers are coming off of their best year in franchise history, and have a chance at repeating that success despite heading into camp with injuries to Kawhi Leonard and Serge Ibaka. A lot of team strategy is going to be installed in camp, and three strategic elements in particular are going to be focused on throughout the entire period.

No. 3 element of team strategy to be defined in LA Clippers training camp: Rebounding concepts

One of the only weaknesses that the LA Clippers had last season was rebounding. They were in the bottom half of the league in rebounds per game, and didn’t do a whole lot in the offseason to really improve that.

Now is the time for Ty Lue to get with the team and draw up ideas to improve with that. It could be bad positioning, it could be not boxing out, and it could be not having enough size on the floor that Lue wants to improve.

Other teams who were not good rebounding squads such as the Los Angeles Lakers improved their rebounding through offseason acquisitions. The Clippers will need to improve through these preseason practices.
