One of the best wide receivers in the state of Georgia and in the entire country has Georgia Tech as one of his top schools.

2025 four-star wide receiver Travis Smith Jr, who plays at nearby Westlake High School in Atlanta, listed Georgia Tech as one of his top eight schools.

The other schools in Smith's top eight include Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Colorado, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Smith Jr is a four-star prospect, the No. 196 player in the country, the No. 25 wide receiver in the country, and the No. 27 player in the state of Georgia.

Smith Jr is one of the top targets at wide receiver for the Yellow Jackets and would be a huge addition to the Georgia Tech offense. At 6'4 191 LBS, he is a big-bodied receiver and makes tough, contested catches look easy. Keep an eye on this recruitment going forward.

Smith Jr is not the only big-time receiver that Georgia Tech is pursuing in this 2025 cycle.

Five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham has been pursued by Georgia Tech for some time and has the Yellow Jackets in his top 12 schools.

Mississippi State, LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Auburn, Florida State, and Oklahoma are the other schools that make up his top 12.

Cunningham is a multi-sport athlete and will be one of the most highly-coveted prospects in the upcoming class. He has great size and frame (6'3 180 LBS) that he will grow into and he has all the traits of a top receiver prospect.

The offer list for him is extensive. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Oregon, and Tennessee are some of the offers that Cunningham holds.

Here is his scouting report and some stats and info courtesy of 247Sports Analyst Gabe Brooks and Andrew Ivins:

"Unverified size and athleticism, but clearly possesses physical traits and excellent functional athleticism on tape. Know less about him than most other wideouts in the class, but definitely aware that he's a dynamic basketball player with big production on the hardwood. Translates body control and bounce to ball-winning mismatch effectiveness at wideout. Unstoppable in red-zone situations. Strong-handed in traffic. Runs hard in run-after-catch situations and bowls his way through arm tackles. Long-striding gait that creates necessity for build-up speed. Natural route sense and spatial awareness. Question the top-end athlete from speed and lateral perspectives relative to others in the class, though athletic profile is admittedly excellent with the hoops context. Projects as a high-major impact player with a long-term ceiling that could lead to NFL Draft consideration."
