76ers guard Tyrese Maxey’s 50-point night puts him in elite company

Philadelphia 76ers rising star Tyrese Maxey didn't just have a 50-point scoring performance in the team's win over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night, he did a bit of everything across the board. The 23-year-old's stellar final stat line also placed him in the elite company of only two active players who have put up such numbers as well — Damian Lillard and Maxey's former teammate, James Harden.

When the final buzzer sounded, Maxey's stat line included 50 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three blocks. He also knocked down an impressive seven-of-11 attempts from beyond the arc. And the 50-plus points, five or more rebounds, five-plus assists, three-plus blocks and five or more made three-pointers are something that only Lillard and Harden have done among all current active players, per StatMuse.

Maxey has been on a tear to start the new season, averaging 28.6 points, 7.2 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game this season. He's also shooting a career-best from the field at 50.5 percent and has knocked down 43.1 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc.

Arguably the most impressive aspect of Maxey's huge jump in year No. 4 is the fact that his scoring has increased so much while he's also more than doubled his assists per game average from last year (3.5 to 7.2), increased his rebounding (2.9 to 5.4 per game) and is averaging fewer turnovers per game as well.

While the Sixers may still be in the mix to acquire more talent via trade, it's safe to say they've already found a second star next to Joel Embiid in Maxey.
