Over the weekend, the Philadelphia 76ers found themselves extremely shorthanded against the Denver Nuggets. Despite being without most of their key players, they still managed to make things interesting.

Among the notable standouts for the shorthanded Sixers squad was Paul Reed. He ended up getting the start at center after Joel Embiid was scratched right before tip-off. Reed ended up coming through in a big way, finishing the game with 30 points and 13 rebounds.

Following this career night for him, Reed had a lot of praise for the Sixers' guards. He stated that playing alongside Tyrese Maxey and Patrick Beverley makes life a lot easier for him on the offensive side of the floor.

“He makes the game a lot easier for me, not going to lie,” Reed said of Beverley. “I know he has the floater, that is automatic when we are in the pick-and-roll. It is like either one of us is going to score, it is like me and Maxey. Maxey is either going to get to the cup or dime me. Playing with those two guys makes the game extremely easy for me.”

Maxey did not suit up against the Nuggets, which resulted in Beverley entering the starting lineup as well. The veteran point guard had a strong outing, posting a stat line of 17 points, 11 assists, and two blocks. Beverley also ended up going viral on social media after a clip was posted of him working with the team on defensive coverages during halftime.

Beverley has made a huge impact for the Sixers both on and off the floor. Along with bringing a certain level of intensity to games, his voice and leadership abilities are having a positive effect on guys like Reed.
