76ers raise ticket prices for Kobe's final appearance

Never before in NBA history has it costed as much money as it will cost you on Tuesday if you want to see an 0-18 team play live.

The winless Philadelphia 76ers host the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, marking Kobe Bryant's final career road appearance in Philly. Bryant's father Joe "Jellybean" Bryant played for the Sixers, and Kobe famously became a high school at local Lower Merion High School. Turns out, if you're in the Philadelphia area and want to see the Lakers legend and local product play one last time, it's going to cost you.

Based on the report from this 76ers fan, the team has raised ticket prices by over 700 percent their normal value. Ouch.

It's no surprise that NBA teams will want to cash in on Kobe's farewell tour, but to pay a minimum of $75 to see an 0-18 team play a 2-14 team … that's pretty egregious.

Of course, if that sounds bad, ticket prices for Bryant's final home game in April are no cheaper than $500 on secondary ticket sites like StubHub.

Kobe Bryant's final NBA season will certainly have moments that basketball fans will cherish, but for NBA teams it will also be a moment for some opportunism.
