76ers' Tobias Harris enters NBA health and safety protocols; expected to miss 'several games'

Leading up to their 113-103 home win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night, the already shorthanded Philadelphia 76ers found out that they would be without another starter for the contest and foreseeable future.

Furkan Korkmaz started in Harris' place, scoring 15 points and adding five assists, while Seth Curry notched a game-high 23 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out five assists. Philadelphia was also playing without starters Joel Embiid, who was resting, and Ben Simmons, who hasn't played yet this season.

Andre Drummond started in Embiid's place and recorded a double-double of 14 points and 15 rebounds while adding seven assists and five steals. Georges Niang scored 21 points off of the bench. In addition to being without Embiid, Harris and Simmons, the Sixers also lost starter Danny Green to injury during the contest.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Sixers were expecting to know more on Harris' status in the next 12 to 24 hours, while Tim Bontemps noted that the 29-year-old could miss 10 days if he tested positive.

Through his six games played, Harris currently leads the Sixers in minutes per game (33.0), field goals per game (8.5), defensive rebounds per game (7.7) and assists per game (4.2), while ranking second in points per contest at 19.8. The Sixers are currently 5-2 and have won three games in a row.
