Al Horford 'grateful' to return to Celtics, has 'unfinished business'

Brad Stevens made his first move as the Celtics president of basketball operations on Friday, reuniting with a player he coached during his early days in Boston.

Stevens traded Kemba Walker , a 2021 first-round pick and a 2025 second-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Al Horford, Moses Brown and a 2023 second-round pick.

Walker hasn't shared his reaction to the deal yet, but Horford appears pretty excited about returning to Boston with "unfinished business."

Horford played for the Celtics from 2016-19 before signing with the Philadelphia 76ers, a move that didn't work out. He was eventually traded to the Thunder, which also didn't work out.

The 35-year-old averaged 13.5 points, seven rebounds and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 49.8% from the field and 38.2% from deep during his Celtics career, and Stevens is hoping he'll be able to replicate those numbers in his second stint with the franchise.
