Chicago Bulls veteran DeMar DeRozan has been brilliant since he arrived in the Windy City in 2021. From the clutch shots he makes to bail the Bulls out of trouble to his nifty playmaking that sets his teammates, DeRozan has been a big reason why the Bulls are making a push for another postseason berth.

Because of his consistent excellence, Bulls defensive dynamo Alex Caruso said taking all that Deebo does for granted can be easy. However, the Bulls acknowledge and appreciate what he brings to the table every night.

Goes out and does what he needs to do

It’s no secret how flawed this Chicago squad is. This team isn't perfect, from injured rotation guys to a lack of forward-thinking from the front office and everything in between. However, the former USC star doesn't let this stop him from coming in every night to give his all.

Despite facing various challenges, DeMar DeRozan remains a key player for the Chicago Bulls.

“Outsiders might (take him for granted); we definitely don’t,” Caruso said.

“Really thankful he's on our team. He's a competitor. He goes out there every night and does his best to help us win the game.”

Does the little things

While Deebo’s crunchtime performances always make the highlight reels, Caruso said there’s more to his teammate’s game than just scoring. With Patrick Williams out for the season, DeRozan has often had to function as a four, matching him up against bigger and stronger opponents. But he doesn’t shy away from the challenge, using his craftiness almost always to make the winning play.

“A lot of times, it's making the right plays late in the game. It’s sometimes more than just making a shot. It’s big rebounds tonight, it’s boxing out against their guys that are crashing hard and then finding Vooch on the mismatch down low for the layup to keep us up three. He just is a winner at heart,” Caruso added.
