The Chicago Bulls faced off against the Los Angeles Lakers last night at the United Center. Both the Bulls and Lakers had lost out on significant players due to the recent upturn in COVID-19 cases within the NBA. But the fixture had some big stars, and the Bulls walked away with the victory.

During the game, the Chicago Bulls mascot, Benny The Bull, had a sign which had a meme printed on it. In this meme, it was Wolverine (representing the Lakers) looking sadly at a photograph. And in that photograph was Alex Caruso in a Lakers jersey, suggesting that the Lakers miss Caruso. Even Caruso thought it was hilarious when he reacted to it online.

Caruso got a rare start against the Lakers, owing to the Bulls missing players due to COVID-19. And in this game, he stepped and showed the Lakers why they should have matched his offer and kept him, putting up 17 points and 9 rebounds against them. Caruso was a big factor in the Bulls defeating the Lakers.

This is not Caruso's first time playing against the Lakers this season. When he returned to the Staples Center earlier in the season, he got a commemorative video chronicling his time there, including his contribution to their championship win in 2020. Caruso was left emotional after the tribute package, as the Lakers fans welcomed him back and cheered for him quite loudly.

There have been a lot of questions about Caruso being let go, with Caruso even revealing that the Lakers lowballed him in the offseason when he was negotiating with them and the Chicago Bulls. Clearly, with the Lakers' defensive issues, they have missed Caruso's presence on the defensive end of the court.
