Anonymous NBA agent: If league wants to align with Black Lives Matter 'they're really hurting themselves'
The Black Lives Matter movement became a focal point of the NBA's season resume at Walt Disney World in Orlando, and they did a good job bringing attention to the fight for racial equality and social justice.
However, one anonymous NBA agent thinks the showings in Orlando actually were a detriment to the sport. His thought process seems to be similar to Donald Trump's in that the league ratings supposedly dropped because of it.
According to Forbes, the NBA's ratings drop this past season wasn't due to the players putting attention on racial equality. In a recent poll, Forbes says 46% of avid sports fans have spent less time watching amid the pandemic.
Another point one can bring up is the fact that both the NHL (38%) and Major League Baseball (40%) ratings have seen a more significant decline than the NBA (37%).
Once players get word of this anonymous agent essentially saying that players shouldn't be advocating for racial equality, they'll figure out who he is. Players who are represented by this agent probably will find a new one.
