Anthony Davis probable for Tuesday game vs. Nets after missing five weeks

Anthony Davis is likely to make his return to the Los Angeles Lakers' lineup after more than a month on the sideline. On Monday, the Lakers upgraded Davis to probable for their Tuesday game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Davis, 28, was diagnosed with a sprained MCL last month and hasn't played since a Dec. 17 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In his absence, the Lakers have gone 7-10 and has fallen to eighth place in the Western Conference.

On Friday, Davis warmed up on the court before the Lakers' 116-105 win over the Orlando Magic.

In 27 games with the Lakers this season, Davis has averaged 23.3 points and 9.9 rebounds. The eight-time All-Star was acquired by Los Angeles in a July 2019 trade with the New Orleans Pelicans for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and three first-round picks. In his first season with the Lakers, Davis and LeBron James led Los Angeles to a win in the 2020 NBA Finals.
