Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young felt the need to respond to Marcus Morris’ lazy take about him and the NBA guards today.
Morris argued on ESPN’s First Take that point guards like Tyrese Haliburton are becoming extinct, but Kendrick Perkins brought up Young. The former Cleveland Cavaliers forward then said that Young “just started” passing the ball recently.
“Trae Young is a good player. He was shooting 3-pointers; he wasn’t a point guard. He just started passing the ball, he was shooting 40-foot 3-pointers,” Morris said.
“Love Marcus, but this is why it’s important to WIN at a high level & win consistently kids. Human nature to live in the moment! This how bad narratives are made though.. “just started passing”?
let’s do our research,” Young responded on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Atlanta Hawks News: Trae Young posts terse response after All-NBA snub
Trae Young averaged 24.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, 11.6 assists (league high), and 1.2 steals on 41.1 percent shooting from the field across 76 regular season appearances in 2024-25. Despite the solid numbers, he didn’t make the All-Star and All-NBA teams.
The former fifth overall pick recently took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share his thoughts on missing out (again).
“Winning takes care of everything!” Young posted.
