Retaining little-used Los Angeles Lakers combo guard Shaquille Harrison ranks fairly low on LA's list of offseason priorities.

The 6'4" journeyman inked a rest-of-season deal (including the playoffs) to join LA as a deep-bench reserve on the last day of the 2022-23 regular season, but saw little use during the playoffs proper.

Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports that Los Angeles team president Rob Pelinka and his front office intend to cut Harrison, whose deal with the club includes a $2.4 million non-guaranteed salary for the 2023-24 NBA season.

He played limited minutes for LA during the playoffs, averaging 1.3 points on 57.1% field goal shooting and 1.1 assists.

Since not going undrafted out of the University of Tulsa in 2016, Harrison has suited up for a variety of franchises. He spent his first two pro seasons with the Northern Arizona Suns, then the G League affiliate of the Phoenix Suns (they have since been procured by the Detroit Pistons and rebranded the Motor City Cruise).

The 29-year-old has since suited up for the Suns proper, as well as the Chicago Bulls, Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets, Brooklyn Nets, and Portland Trail Blazers. He has also moonlit for a variety of other NBAGL clubs, including the Philadelphia 76ers' affiliate club, the Delaware Blue Coats, and LA's own affiliate in El Segundo, the South Bay Lakers.
