There is a lot of hype around the Brooklyn Nets and their brand new star, Ben Simmons.

Ever since he was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers, people have been eager to see him suited up and playing on the court of the Barclays Center.

But because of a hamstring injury, he hasn’t been able to take to the floor yet.

However, Simmons says his return date may be soon.

Speaking with media for the first time since the trade, he said “I don’t have a date yet – but I’m starting to ramp it up.”

Brooklyn is ready to see Simmons on the team – and the guard is wanting to play on a very particular date.

Simmons Stays Silent On Sixers

Many of the questions asked of Simmons during his press conference were about the 76ers.

The media and fans are dying to know more about the painful breakup that ultimately resulted in Simmons packing up and heading to Brooklyn.

But he isn’t saying much about his exit from Philly.

He gave some insight into leaving the team but didn’t give many details.

Simmons told CBS that “it wasn’t about the fans or coaches or comments made by anybody, it was just a personal thing for me.”

While he seems happy to be free and clear of Philly, the team is obviously still on his mind.

When asked about his return to the NBA, he said he hopes to be playing for the Nets on March 10, the night when Brooklyn will travel to take on the 76ers at their home court of the Wells Fargo Center.

If Simmons is indeed playing for the Nets on that night, you can expect to hear some of the loudest boos of the season as he takes on his former team.
