The Los Angeles Lakers hosted the New York Knicks in California on Sunday night

Four-time NBA champion LeBron James was ruled out for the seventh straight game due to a foot injury.

That said, there is positive news, as James is no longer in a walking boot.

Via ESPN's Dave McMenamin: "James is out of the walking boot."

Before getting injured, the 19-time NBA All-Star had been averaging 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.9 assists per contest in 47 games.

On March 2, the Lakers made an announcement about his injury diagnosis.

Via The Lakers on March 2: "LeBron James has been evaluated by Lakers team physicians and medical staff, and it has been determined that he has sustained a right foot tendon injury. James will be reevaluated in approximately three weeks."

Before the Lakers played the Knicks, head coach Darvin Ham spoke about James.

Via Daniel Starkand of Lakers Nation: "Darvin Ham says that “everything is going according to plan” with LeBron’s rehab so far. No other updates yet."

Therefore, it sounds like the future Hall of Famer is progressing well.

The Lakers have played phenomenally over the last few weeks and are 7-3 in their previous 10 games (and in the middle of a three-game winning streak) heading into Sunday night's game.

In addition, the Lakers are the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 33-34 record in 67 games, which currently has them in one of the final two play-in tournament spots.

James is in his 20th season in the NBA and his fifth playing for the Lakers.
