Blazers' Zach Collins out at least 2-4 games with left ankle stress reaction

The Portland Trail Blazers revealed bad news less than 24 hours after the club's upset win over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1 of their opening round playoff series. 

Portland tweeted that forward Zach Collins is likely to miss at least the next three games due to a left ankle stress reaction. With Collins set to be evaluated over the next seven days, the 22-year-old probably won't be cleared to return to action before Game 5 on Aug. 26. 

As noted by Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports Northwest, Collins exited Saturday’s play-in game versus the Memphis Grizzlies in the first quarter of play due to what was initially described as left ankle inflammation. 

He sat for Tuesday's victory over the Lakers. 

Collins missed the majority of the 2019-20 campaign due to a shoulder injury he suffered in late October. He's averaging 7.0 points and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 36.8 percent (7-of-19) from three-point range this season.
