The Milwaukee Bucks have been humming lately, and so has Bobby Portis Jr.

Bobby has scored in double figures in the last eight games, a scoring tear that helped the Bucks pick up the pieces after limping into the All-Star break. Milwaukee is 3-0 since the All-Star break, with Portis scoring a combined 52 points in those string of victories.

Portis scored 21 points when the Bucks scored a 123-85 rout of the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night. That was the highest output that Portis had in the eight games that he scored in double figures.

Playing as a team

Bobby said his stellar offensive showing is an indication that the Bucks are starting to play better as a team.

"I think guys on this team are starting to figure it out," Portis said. "It's not about how many points you score or how many shots you shoot."

Bobby is averaging 12.9 points on the season. In the last eight games, he has scored 15.8 points a game.

Undefeated since the All-Star break

The Bucks went 3-7 in their first ten games under coach Doc Rivers. They went into the break with two frustrating losses, stumbling against the Miami Heat and the Memphis Grizzlies, who were missing a bunch of key players.

Milwaukee came out of the break strong, racking up three straight wins in what is by far its longest winning streak under Rivers. With the streak, the Bucks are threatening to regain the second spot in the Eastern Conference.

Milwaukee is currently third in the East with a 38-21 record, closely trailing the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are 38-20. The Bucks occupied the second spot for several weeks before the rough ten-game stretch pulled them down to third spot.

"We're just trying to get wins and change the narrative for everybody talking. All the outside noise," Portis said.
