The Boston Celtics, based on their record, are the best team in the NBA right now. And during the first half of their Monday night road game against the Atlanta Hawks, the Celtics looked every bit the favorite to win the NBA title this season.

The Celtics built a 30-point lead with a little over four minutes remaining in the second half, but that was apparently not enough to completely take the air of the fight from the Hawks, who turned things around and found a way to erase the enormous deficit to secure an unbelievable 120-118 come-from-behind victory.

Boston Celtics Trolled On X After Massive Chokejob Vs. Hawks

After such a massive meltdown, the internet went down to work and targeted the Boston Celtics with all sorts of reactions.

“LETS ALL LAUGH AT THE CELTICS WHO BLEW A 30 POINT LEAD COULD NEVER BE THE HEAT

,” shared @Demar305 on X (formerly Twitter).

“Celtics are just going to choke before the conference finals mate,” said @Gerrt__.

From @NewsomSportsATL: “Let’s take it back to the end of the game where BOTH TATUM AND HORFORD Missed Layups in the final seconds

Celtics already in playoff choke mode

#TrueToAtlanta”

The Hawks woke up in the second half where Bogdan Bogdanovic poured 14 of his 22 points, while Vit Krejci,
De’Andre Hunter, and Dejounte Murray combined for 36 points in the final two quarters to help Atlanta turn away the mighty  Celtics. All told, the Hawks shot 57.5 percent form the field in the second half and outscored Boston, 64-44.

The good news for the Celtics is that it’s just a loss and that they are still very much on top of the Eastern Conference record with a 57-15 record.
