On Monday night, Brooklyn Nets fans had strong reactions to the news that the team hired a permanent head coach to take over for the 2023-24 season. After a slow start to the season, the Nets made an in-season decision to fire Jacque Vaughn at the All-Star break.

The team failed to make the playoffs with interim coach Kevin Ollie. The Nets finished with a 32-50 record on the season, which put them in 11th place in the Eastern Conference.

The Brooklyn Nets hired Jordi Fernandez

As previously discussed on HH, the Nets hired a Sacramento Kings assistant as their new leader:

ESPN’s NBA guru Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to break the news:

“Jordi Fernandez has emerged as the Brooklyn Nets’ choice to become the franchise’s next coach, separating himself amid a wide, month-long search that now has the Nets prepared to hire the Sacramento Kings’ top assistant,” Woj reported.
