Mikal Bridges Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

On Sunday, the Brooklyn Nets pulled a somewhat iffy move to preserve Mikal Bridges’ streak of consecutive games played.

Bridges entered the day's action having played 391 consecutive games and technically made it 392 straight when he started against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Four seconds after tip-off, though, the Nets forward committed an intentional foul and was removed from the game. Streak secured, Bridges proceeded to sit out the remainder of the contest.

The move also gave Bridges his 83rd game played this season, a statistical quirk which came about as the byproduct of his midseason trade from Phoenix to Brooklyn.

Depending on your perspective, this was either a funny move or a weak one. In the era of load management, Bridges’ streak is worth applauding, even despite the sketchy fashion which preserved it on Sunday.
