The Milwaukee Bucks would not have emerged victorious on Monday night against the Brooklyn Nets had it not been for the heroics of Giannis Antetokounmpo. The former back-to-back MVP was a dominant force on both ends of the floor, and he made sure that the Bucks would leave as victors.
Apart from being an unstoppable force on the offensive end — Giannis dropped a season-high 36 points over the Nets — Antetokounmpo was also a menace on defense. He came up with not one, but two crucial blocks in the dying moments of the game to seal the win for Milwaukee — including a stop on Nets guard Cam Thomas with less than 20 seconds remaining in the game:
After the Bucks secured a 129-125 victory, head coach Adrian Griffin could not help but heap praise on Giannis’ heroics on the day.
“Man, I mean, he’s phenomenal. He’s a winner. Those are winning plays,” Griffin said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “He’s willing to do whatever it takes for us to win as a team.”
Giannis just proved on Monday that he’s still one of the most dominant players in the NBA today — on both ends of the ball. As Griffin said, he is willing to do whatever it takes to lead his team to victory, which is exactly what he did against a feisty Brooklyn side.
