The Milwaukee Bucks have hosted several pre-draft workouts already. Earlier this week, they hosted Shareef O’Neal, the son of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. Previously, O’Neal was believed to have withdrawn his name from the NBA Draft. That, however, was a mistake, as Shams Charania reported:

The Athletic‘s Jovan Buha, who covers the Los Angeles Lakers, was on the one who broke the news that Shareef O’Neal had worked out with the Bucks.

Shareef O’Neal did not have as successful a college career as his legendary father. In three seasons at LSU, Shaquille O’Neal averaged 21.6 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. Of course, he was the first overall pick in the 1992 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic.

In three seasons in college, Shareef O’Neal has carried averages of 2.6 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. He started his college career at UCLA but transferred to LSU for his sophomore and junior seasons.

After announcing his intention to enter the NBA Draft, Shareef O’Neal was invited to the NBA G-League Elite Camp, which takes place the same weekend as the Draft Combine. In his one scrimmage at the camp, he posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

While he had a great showing in that scrimmage, Shareef O’Neal is still projected to be a second-round NBA Draft pick at best. Many scouts believe that he will go undrafted. If he is drafted or signed by the Bucks (or any other NBA team), he will most likely start out in the NBA G-League.
