Milwaukee Bucks forward Jae Crowder suffered a left groin injury against the Orlando Magic on November 11. He underwent testing and further evaluation in Philadelphia and was diagnosed with a left adductor and abdominal tear.

Crowder will undergo surgery and will be sidelined for approximately eight weeks.

Crowder has appeared in nine games for the Bucks this season. He’s averaging 8.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks while shooting 53.2% from the field, 51.6% from beyond the arc and 58.3% from the free-throw line.

Crowder signed a one-year, $3.2 million contract with the Bucks this past offseason as an unrestricted free agent. He was traded by the Phoenix Suns to the Brooklyn Nets last season. The Nets then sent the veteran to the Bucks, who lost to the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2023 playoffs in five games.

Crowder has career averages of 9.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.3 blocks with the Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies, Heat, Suns and Bucks.

The Bucks will likely rely on the combination of Bobby Portis, MarJon Beauchamp and Pat Connaughton to fill in for Crowder while he is sidelined. Milwaukee fans are certainly hoping that Crowder will make a full recovery sooner rather than later.

Milwaukee, despite having All-Stars Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo, have gotten off to a slow start. The team entered November 13 with a record of 5-4.
