Bucks release statement on Grayson Allen's suspension

The Chicago Bulls learned on Saturday that yet another member of their team would miss an extended period of time with an injury, as guard Alex Caruso was ruled out for at least six weeks due to a fractured wrist. The injury occurred on a flagrant two foul by Milwaukee Bucks guard Grayson Allen during the team's matchup in Chicago on Friday and resulted in a one-game suspension for the former Duke star.

On Sunday evening, the Bucks released a statement on the NBA's decision.

Following Friday's game — a 94-90 win for Milwaukee — Bulls head coach Billy Donovan told reporters that Allen "has a history of this," and the "very dangerous" foul could've ended Caruso's career. A common foul was called on the court originally, but the officials eventually upgraded it to a flagrant two after a review and ejected Allen from the game.

In his first season in Chicago, Caruso has averaged a career-high 27.7 minutes per game with 8.4 points, 3.9 assists and 3.9 rebounds. The team's starting backcourt of Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine are both currently out with knee injuries, as the former is on the shelf for at least six weeks, while LaVine's injury is less severe.

Allen, who was traded from the Memphis Grizzlies to the Bucks in August, is averaging a career-high 28.1 minutes per game with Milwaukee, as well as 11.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest.

The Bulls are currently 28-16 and tied for second place in the Eastern Conference standings, while the Bucks are 30-19 and in fourth place.
