Milwaukee Bucks guard Malik Beasley (5) Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

A Milwaukee Bucks role player decided to talk like a star this week.

Bucks wing Malik Beasley spoke with Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report in an interview that aired Friday. During the interview, Beasley lobbed some trash talk at budding rival the Indiana Pacers.

“I know we’re going to play them in the playoffs, and boy, it’s not going to be pretty for them,” warned Beasley.

For Beasley, who did also compliment some Indiana players such as Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield and TJ McConnell in the interview, that is a bold comment … maybe a little too bold.

The Bucks and Pacers have already met five times this season with the Pacers winning four of those games. A poor matchup for the Bucks with their pace and three-point shooting ability, Indiana doesn’t fear Milwaukee at all and even did something petty after a recent meeting.

Given Beasley’s place on the Bucks, the trash talk probably isn’t the wisest move either. Though he starts for Milwaukee, Beasley is a clear role player who is averaging 11.6 points per game this season (sixth on the team). That means teammates like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard and Khris Middleton will have to be the ones making good on Beasley’s word. Not even those guys are trash-talking the Pacers right now.
